Overview
The Satui coal mine, is an open-cast mine located in South Kalimantan, Indonesia. It is owned and operated by PT Arutmin Indonesia, a subsidiary of Bumi Resources. The mine has a capacity of ~5 million tonnes-per-annum (Mtpa) of high grade premium thermal coal.
Highlights
Coal from the Satui mine requires crushing but, given its low ash content, no washing. Satui coal is crushed at facilities adjacent to the Muara Satui port, which is owned by Arutmin as well. It is stacked into stockpiles representing different Satui products. Blending varieties from these stockpiles allows coal to be loaded at desired quality specifications.
